TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has said that the Zionist regime is behind all problems facing the region.
Salehi made the remarks during a meeting with the head of Turkey-Palestine parliamentary friendship group, Murat Yildirim, in Tehran on Tuesday.
“The illegitimate Zionist regime has been founded based on sedition and division,” he stated.
He also strongly condemned the Knesset’s decision to declare al-Quds the capital of Israel and the continuation of the settlement constructions in the occupied territories.
He called on the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation to fulfill its historical responsibility in the face of the attitude of the Zionists.
Salehi also expressed satisfaction with the close ties between the Islamic Republic and Turkey in various spheres and said he hoped that the two countries strengthen the relations more than before through cooperating and utilizing their great capacities.
In the meeting, Murat Yildirim conveyed the greetings of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to Salehi and commented on cultural affinities between the two countries.
He described the Zionist regime’s behavior toward the Palestinian people as cruel and disruptive and said that the Zionist regime is seeking to cause dissension between Palestinian political groups and the breakup of Palestine.
